Milan ADT is the firing post for the Milan Advanced Technology/Extended Response (Milan ADT/ER) weapon system. Milan ADT will be able to fire newest Milan ER extended range anti-tank missile as well as legacy Milan 2 and Milan 3 missiles rounds. Compared with Milan legacy firing posts Milan ADT takes full profit from latest digital technology. The firing post is being developed by EADS/LFK of Germany.
Milan ADT firing post weights less than 45 kg including sights and two Milan missiles. Its thermal imaging sight is suitable for day/night, all-weather operations. The firing post also includes a night sight and can be operated remotely utilizing its video output which delivers target area imagery to the weapon system operator at a different location.
Euromissile, MBDA of France and EADS/LFK of Germany, is developing the Milan ADT/ER weapon system to support the newest Milan ER missile. The resulting weapon system extends the engagement range into 3,000 meters against moving and stationary targets versus 2,000 meters with older firing posts and missile rounds. Euromissile Milan ADT was available from 2006 with first customer delivery in March 2008 to South Africa.
